Police: 7 Pa. H.S. students arrested for bullying
Police in a Philadelphia suburb say seven teenagers have been arrested in connection with an assault in which a 14-year-old student was kidnapped and hung from a fence post, but not seriously hurt.
Upper Darby Township Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood says the students were arrested Monday for an assault that happened in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Jan. 11.
The Delaware County Daily Times reports officers arrived at Upper Darby High School early Monday. Chitwood says the students arrested are ages 16 and 17.
Chitwood says the bullying involved the victim being kidnapped and at one point hung from a fence post. He says the student did not suffer serious physical injuries, but did suffer “extreme mental anguish.”
Police say they have video of the incident and are cooperating with school officials.
